My 3 servers (reselling account) are down again, for the x-th time this month. It\'s been already 7 (seven!) hours today that it\'s down, and still no email, no ftp, no websites... I\'m looking for another host right now. Their support is quick, but sometimes rude/impolite and their downtime is just not acceptable. Also, their databases are very very slow, and even my website is very slow since a few months already now. I reported this a few times without any improvement from their part. Decent, depending on the use..Reviewer: Mathew Tate 01-18-2006 I\'ve used them for just about 2 years now, and I have somewhat mixed feelings. They are my first paid host, and overall it\'s a great service. The price for what you get is unmatched; you get a ton of features, and healthy amounts of bandwidth and storage, etc., per month. I have experienced quite a bit of downtime though, usually only for a minute or so very randomly, anywhere from once a week to once a month. This could be due to my ISP or general internet traffic, etc., but it seems a little too common to me. Their customer service is not bad at all - their email system doesn\'t take too long, and they even have (had? last time I had a problem, anyway) an AIM screen name that you can contact for immediate help. If you just need a place to host files, a portfolio or small, non-critical website, these guys can\'t be beat. For a website that requires more stability, I would probably not recommend them though. Great hostReviewer: Jesse 01-18-2006 This is my first time with a paid host. I\'ve emailed support and they emailed back within 30 minutes. They were pro answers not some anwsers they got from a script. This is simply the BEST hosting company ever. Thanks Surpass!  Don't go with Surpass HostingReviewer: Will 01-18-2006 This company is a sham. Packages start out with great pricing, but if its too good to be true, it usually is. Our newspaper web site was hosted with them for over a year with usual down periods known by other Surpass Customers. They suspended our site with a nasty message for all of our readers to view. It gave the impression that we had not paid our bills! We were current with a perfect billing history on record with our bank. After multiple emails (over 20) they finally responded saying our site used too many MySQL resources and that if we wanted to continue as a customer, we would have to upgrade from $25.00 per month to $90.00 per month. That would have been easier to handle had they given us some prior notice. THEY DIDN'T and it cost us weeks of downtime and was embarassing to have our readers presented with this rude message. After nearly a month long search , I stumbled upon Surpass Hosting. Their site looked clean and professional , their reviews on the forums excellent and their packages mouthwatering.I decided to try it out immediately . Since then I have never looked back and am hosting 3 sites on their server . First, they have great plans with good space, lots of transfer and very affordable plans, they also include Scripta, that easily let's you install boards, galleries, portals and many things more. About the dedicated, they have similar prices than those of other companies, BUT they offer MANAGED servers, and believe me, if you aren't experienced enough to manage a full server by yourself, try not to mess around with companies that offer "silver" management (or whatever is named its basic management)because that's limited to reboot your server and charge you extra for everything, and with this full management, they help you if you have any trouble with your sites there and put their best effort so you can have peace of mind. Customer support is fast and friendly (yes, that exists!!! and you'll feel much more comfortable with that). Seriously, i've tried many companies and so far, this has been the BEST and i don't plan to move away as far as they continue with this great service (hopefully for many many years):D GO SURPASS! |
